I may, forever, be known as ‘Peter Brady’. Yet, it was an honor and privilege to be a part of one of the greatest family television sitcoms of all time, ‘The Brady Bunch’ But I have, since, been actively involved in many productions, both in front of and behind the camera, as well as various business and charitable endeavors.
BUSINESS SUCCESSES … In 1988, I embarked on a major career reversal by abruptly leaving acting to pursue a business career in the computer industry. I got a job as an account sales manager for Martec, Inc. and landed that company’s first million-dollar sales deal within my first 18 months on the job, earning me ‘employee of the year’ honors. I took to it like a duck to water. It sort of was a passion of mine. I mean, I’m sort of a geek, really.
Building on my quick success at Martec, I went on to a long and successful business career. I, inevitably co-founded three companies including Visual Software, a pioneering 3D graphics company in 1991; Kidwise Learningware in 1995, a company that manufactures interactive educational products; and Eskape Labs in 1998, a TV tuner company, which was purchased by Hauppauge Computer Works in 2000.
In 2012, I launched my next business venture, The Christopher Knight Home brand. I brought together a number of furniture industry veterans, a lineup of talented designers and a posse of key internet marketing wizards in a targeted effort to reinvent the way people shop for home furnishings. Our aim is to evolve the experience of buying home furnishing so that shopping for furniture “online” becomes a consistently satisfying experience. It’s been fantastic!
REALITY TV … Into the 2000s, I returned to the entertainment industry as a reality TV star. In 2005, I appeared on The Surreal Life, a reality TV show which followed the lives of a group of “has-been” celebrities living together under one roof. On the show, I met and fell in love with 2003 America’s Next Top Model champion, Adrianne Knight.
Adrianne and I then starred in our own spinoff reality show, My Fair Brady. Over its three seasons, My Fair Brady chronicled mine and Adrianne’s courtship, our 2006 marriage, and our experiences as a newlywed couple.
